Post-Treatment Care
The procedure has removed a portion of your skin’s protective layer, leaving behind delicate new tissue that requires protection and aids in the healing process. To ensure optimal results, please adhere to these post-procedure instructions. - Post-treatment, it is recommended to apply Aquaphor® six times a day for a week or until the epidermis is fully healed.
- After treatment, you may find relief by applying cool compresses. At home, a simple trick is to place a wet paper towel over a bag of frozen peas. For convenience, try moistening 4×4 gauzes and freezing them. On the night of the treatment, gently blot the face with a mixture of 8 ounces of water and 1 teaspoon of vinegar.
- You can benefit from regular soaks using normal saline or cool tap water for 20 minutes every 2-4 hours. This practice promotes optimal healing and provides soothing relief.
- Please only take acetaminophen-based pills like Tylenol® for pain relief.
- The affected area can be delicately cleansed with a mixture of 50% vinegar and 50% water. Following this, it is advisable to reapply an occlusive moisturizer for a duration of 4-5 days.
- It is common to experience sunburn-like sensations and itching on the skin. To alleviate discomfort, consider taking Benadryl and blending hydrocortisone with Aquaphor.
- May shower the next day but avoid hot water in the treated area.
- To cleanse your skin effectively, consider using gentle cleansers like Cetaphil cream, Dial, or Dove every 4-5 days. Afterward, gently wash with wet gauze and follow up with a moisturizer and sunblock application for the next 7-10 days.
- If your skin does not feel overly sensitive, you may wear makeup after a week.
- Please refrain from using Obagi®, Retin-A, and similar products in your skincare routine until day 14. On day 14, consider incorporating Diamond Glow Facial or using an effective exfoliant or HydraFacial. You can apply makeup to minimize the appearance of imperfections caused by the treatment. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid any topical exfoliation for a period of 4 weeks.
